Mibuna Seeds

Mibuna Seeds

Mibuna is very similar to Mizuna but the leaves have a milder mustard flavour & are strap like with rounded ends.

Mibuna seeds are very quick & easy to grow. It's young leaves are great for baby-leaf production & used raw in mixed salads or left to grow on for larger leaves that are good for adding to stir-fries in the last minute of cooking.

Mibuna will bolt if the leaves are not regularly picked and needs to be well watered in dry periods.

Mibuna Vegetable Seed Information

Seed Quantity: Approx 350 seeds per pack.
Site:
Most soil types but best in fertile well-drained soil. Can tolerate light shade.
When to Sow
Sow undercover from February
March to October.
How to Sow:
Sow thinly in narrow drills 0.5cm deep. Thin seedlings to either 10cm apart for 'cut & come again' cropping or 25cm apart for larger plants.
Care:
Keep weed free & well watered in dry periods to protect from bolting but do not over water. If growing as 'cut & come again' regularly pick a few leaves at a time. After 4-5 harvests the Mibuna will deterioate & need replacing.
Harvest: Approx 3 weeks after sowing for baby leaf or up to 8 weeks for larger heads. It may possible to get all year round production with successional sowings & with good winter protection.
