Limnanthes douglasii Seeds (AGM)
Limnanthes douglassi (poached egg plant) has lovely white flowers with bright yellow centres and is a very easy to grow hardy annual. It is relatively low growing as only reaches a height of between 20-30cm making it an ideal plant for front of borders, rockeries or even containers.
Limnanthes douglassi also makes an excellent companion plant as it attracts & encourages bees/butterflies and hoverflies to it. Great for planting some near veg crops as hoverflies eat aphids & brings insects in to aid pollination of surrounding crops.
It also makes a good cover crop/green manure in small areas as the Limnanthes douglassi spreads covering the soil and so surpresses weeds and it's foliage can be dug in before setting seed to add organic matter. It does self-seed easily so cut down.
